I recently purchased a Holman Study Bible: NKJV Edition for my 33 year old son. Once I got it home and was able to examine it more thoroughly, I went back and bought two more; one for me and the other for my brother. I would like to thank Jeremy Howard, who was the General Editor, and everyone involved with this Bible. It is by far the best edition I’ve ever owned or read! Thank you all for your hard work, dedication and talents; it is much appreciated!!
I too would like to thank Dr.Howard as I have the hcsb, nkjv and kjv study bibles. There absolutely nothing on the market that does such a fine job in text type, color, paper and wow factor that I have yet too find in bibles. B&H has put out a quality product which will stand for my lifetime. When I need clarity , I use the HCSB.
I have just recently begun studying the HOLMAN KJV STUDY BIBLE.
I am enjoying the multitudes of helps.
However, I am intrigued to learn that JEREMY ROYAL HOWARD is the General Editor.
Being quite aged,(72, my twin won’t let me say old), my computer savvy is far from up to date, thus my genealogy research is very incomplete.
My grandfather, Cary Columbus Howard of Quitman, Arkansas (died I think about 1936 in Dade City, Pasco County, Florida) donated land for the Howard General Baptist Church at Quitman which may have been built twice by now. Uncle W. C. Howard, an older of the sons of Columbus, was long a minister in Church of God, ministering many years before building Church of God, Beachamp Ave, Dade City, FL.
My dad, Oliver Eugene Howard (27 Jan 1916 – 26 Nov 1994) is the youngest of granddaddy’s children.
My cousins ( a generation younger than me because their parents were older) whose families are from the older siblings may know more about the genealogy. Nancy Howard Lawhon (s) and Janice Howard Hernandez, and Ernestine Howard Whitfield are all on facebook. Any or all of us would like to hear from you, whether or not we are connected by blood other that of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
May God continue to bless you, as your studies and insights are blessing many.
Elizabeth Anne “Betty” nee HOWARD Lisenby
Thanks for this note, Elizabeth. My guess is we are not closely related. I come from Howards in East TN. I’m sorry to say I’ve not been much of a student of my own heritage, though, and so possibly there is a connection between us somewhere back in our genealogies. In any case, thanks for your kinds words. Blessings on you and yours (which may somehow include me!). Sincerely, Jeremy.
My parents did live in Tennessee briefly probably in 1940-1941, but I have no clue where, and no one now alive to ask. Thanks for replying to my earlier message. Blessings on you and yours, and your awesome Ministry. Sincerely, Betty.
Ps- cousin Janice named above is Janice Mathis Hernandez. Her mother was my dad’s niece.
